Recently cited “Best City to Live in South Carolina” by Sperling’s Best Places, Spartanburg is a beautiful and aspiring city of 40,000 residents which serves as the institutional and commercial hub of a metro area of 250,000 in the Upstate of South Carolina.  The Washington Post describes our community as an “unconditionally friendly city.”  With a multitude of arts programs, festivals, and music, Spartanburg is an active community and is the first city in South Carolina to earn a bronze designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community.  Spartanburg is a “College Town,” boasting eight institutions of higher learning that provide a wide array of lifelong learning opportunities.  The partnerships created with students, faculty and the community continue to bring richness to the quality of life in our City.  Our historic Southern destination offers a unique blend of living history, stunning natural beauty, and vibrant activities for every age and interest.
